March 19-20, 2016
Another busy weekend, with teams at Mass Maritime for Central 1, at Sacred Heart for the Vietor Trophy, and at Home for the Geiger Trophy. It was a good weekend for the Huskies, with each team scoring well at their respective events.
Sailing Central 1, on Sunday only, was Donal Ryan, Sofia Kirkman, Stephen Fletcher, and Abby Duclos. It was a cold day with winds of 12-15 kts out of the NE, and they were able to get eght races off in both fleets. At the end of the day, the team mannaged to place fourth in the fleet.
Tori McGruer, Laura Tschiegg, Kurran Singh, and Katie Alfrond also had a great weekend sailing the Vietor Trophy. With consitant conditions, and wind of 8-10 kts, they were able to finish ten races, finishing third overall.
Peter Christensen, Linnea Goldstein, Chris Colbeth, Sandra Nygren, Carter Rose, and Annie Wieland sailed the Geiger Trophy this weekend. The weekend was cold, with typically inconsitant wind courtesy of the Charles River, but the team was able to complete 21 races over the two days. Competition on the river was much tougher than the previous weeks of team racing, but the team was able to rise to occasion and managed to stay competative in almost every race.
