Week 3
March 12-13, 2016
This was the first full weekend of the season, with teams competing in the spring fleet race in Charleston, the Rudkin Team Race in Rhode Island, and the Ice Breaker fleet race in Connecticut.
Sailing in Charleston this weekend was Sarah de Silva, Nathalie Garcia, Tori McGruer, Laura Tschiegg, and Kurran Singh. They had a great weekend, finishing in 4th place out of 14 teams.
Peter Christensen, Katie Alfrond, Donal Ryan, Jackie Berlin, Chris Colbeth, Elise Gehling, and Annie Wieland sailed the Rudkin Team Race this weekend. The weekend was windy, blowing anywhere from 10-18 kts, with a substantial amount of current, but we managed to get ten races off over the two days. Despite being a tough weekend for the Huskies, it was also a good oportunity to continue practing for the remainder of the team racing season.
The Ice Breaker was sailed by Will Manning, Linnea Goldstein, Sofia Kirkman, and Sandra Nygren. With consitent conditions, they were able to finish a full weekend of sailing without any interuptions.
