Week 5
March 26-27, 2016
This was the last weekend of the team racing season for the Huskies, with some tough competition, the New England team racing qualifier in Connecticut, and a women's team race at Tufts. In addition to the team racing this weekend, there was also a team sailing in the second Central regatta at Boston University.
Sailing the Staake this weekend in Connecticut was Peter Christensen, Annie Wieland, Kurran Singh, Sofia Kirkman, Jackie Berlin, and Donal Ryan. This was one of the most competative team racing events of the season, and while we were not able to qualify for New Englands, the team was able to improve thoughout the weekend.
Stephen Fletcher, Abby Duclos, Matteo Alampi, and Fanny Norlund sailed the Central 2 regatta at BU on Saturday. The conditions were typical of the Charels River, with moderate wind and a good deal of shifts.
The Tuft's Duplin Team Race was sailed by Sarah de Silva, Nathalie Garcia, Tori McGruer, Laura Tschiegg, Elise Gehling, and Coleen Ross. It was light and shifty on Mystic Lake, but they were able to get seven races off, and the Huskies were able to stay competative thoughout the weekend.
