September 19-20, 2015

 

A weekend of tough events, including two A level regattas made for a highly competitive weekend for the Huskies. 

 

At the intersectional Hatch Brown event at MIT, Scott Goodrich, Taylor Williams, Elise Gehling, Margo Blagden, Jackson Hamilton, and Jackie Berlin sailed in typical shifty Charles River conditions, fighting against the best sailors from the best teams in the country.

At the Nevin's Trophy, hosted by King's Point in New York, Sarah de Silva, Nathalie Garcia, Tori McGruer, Laura Tschiegg, Carter Rose, and Donal Ryan sailed in another extremely competitive intersectional. Rose and Ryan sailed Lasers in the third division, while A and B division sailed in 420s and FJs.

The Lake Champlain Open, sailed at UVM in wildly windy conditions was sailed by Kurran Singh, John Hughes, Peter Christensen, and Lindsay Martinez. The first day saw gusts hitting 33 knots, as well as large waves, while the colder second day saw slightly puffier and shiftier wind, although the waves remained a challenge.

Finally the Central 2 sailed at Boston College by Chris Colbeth, Coleen Ross, Owen Beringer, Claire Lockard, and Evan Gregory.
