September 29-30, 2012

Tasha Greenwood had a big weekend, competing in the NEISA Women's Singlehanded Championship at Connecticut College. She faced off against the best Laser Radial sailors in New England, sailing consistently in a fleet where that is much easier said than done to secure her self a 10th place finish out of 18 boats!

At Bowdoin, the coed team was competing in the Hewitt Trophy. 'A' skipper Maarten Eenkema van Dijk sailed with Janelle Veary and Conor Lodge was in B division with Kristen Kuzil. Both finished 8th in their division, good for 8th of 15 overall. It was a tough weekend with light conditions that made consistency difficult against the competition.

On the Charles, the Huskies sailed the Smith Trophy, the last college regatta in MIT's infamous fleet of old techs. Scott Goodrich and Taylor Williams were 7th in A division and Becker Awqatty and Forest Franzose were 10th in their division. Light, shifty conditions made for frustrating racing, but NU finished 10th of 17 overall.

Accompanying Greenwood at Connecticut was the women's team at the Connecticut College Women's Invite. where they had a tough weekend finishing last in the 9 boat fleet. At the Tufts Central SeriesHeidi Hood skippered with Lukas Scott in 'A,' and Elise Gehling sailed with Zach Shapiro in 'B.' They finished 7th of 9 overall. At the Charles River Invite, out team was unfortunately unable to sail a full regatta due to a lack of wind.
