This Huskies sailed both FJs and Fireflies in the Central Series 1, hosted at MIT with the help of Northeastern. Elise Gehling and Kristen Kuzil sailed A division, while Olin Nelson and Linnea Goldstein sailed in B. The day started with a shifty northwest breeze around 10 knots, with wind dying throughout the day. Northeastern finished in 9th place overall, with Gehling and Kuzil taking 7th in A division and Nelson and Goldstein finishing in 11th.
In Newport, RI, the Huskies participated in the Veitor Trophy, hosted by Salve Regina. Jesse Thomas skippered A division with Taylor Williams as crew, and Becker Awqatty skippered B division with Sydney Rey. Saturday started with shifty breeze that eventually died down. Racing was called around 2pm.
On Sunday the breeze filled in, picking up to 17 knots. Thomas and Williams finished with a strong last couple of races, placing them in 11th in A division. Awqatty and Rey took 14th in B division, bringing the team to a 13th place finish in this competitive fleet. Highlights from the weekend include a 4th place finish in a race by Awqatty and Rey, and a 2nd place finish in a race by Thomas and Williams.
